Our colleague Cindy Brack’s dad, Steve Haverkamp, is on the frontlines every day as the owner of Haverkamp Grocery in Centralia, KS. She told us about what her dad is doing to keep the shelves stocked and customers safe.

To meet the needs of his customers, Steve has had to explore creative solutions to find products that were unavailable. In addition, he added online grocery ordering and delivery to help keep the vulnerable and health professionals safe. He set guidelines limiting shopping to one person per household and asked customers not to stop in every day. Each day brings a new challenge over how to keep his most essential of businesses open, stocked, and clean. He is the very definition of an everyday hero and has made his daughter incredibly proud for his selfless decisions.
