AICPA & CIMA 2024 conference

On December 9-11, the AICPA & CIMA held the 2024 Conference on Current SEC and PCAOB Developments in Washington, D.C., welcoming representatives from the AICPA, SEC, PCAOB, FASB, and Center for Audit Quality (CAQ), as well as individuals from the accounting profession and business community.

The underlying theme of this year’s conference was navigating the challenges of tomorrow in a changing political and regulatory landscape, while maintaining trust in the capital markets. Panelists and speakers also focused on the importance of elevating high-quality reporting and embracing technology, including AI and Generative AI.

Our Snapshot summarizes highlights of the conference, including rulemaking activity; recent SEC consultations; segment reporting; non-GAAP financial measures; and auditor independence, among other topics.
