Grant Thornton Managing Partner Brad Preber named ‘Top 25 Consultant’ in 2019

Consulting magazine recognized Preber for ‘Excellence in Leadership’

CHICAGO — Brad Preber, national managing partner of Business Risk Services and chairman of Grant Thornton LLP’s Partnership Board, has been named to Consulting magazine’s 2019 Top 25 Consultants list. The annual award, which honors professionals making the greatest impact within the consulting industry, recognized Preber for “Excellence in Leadership.”

As Grant Thornton’s national Business Risk Services leader, Preber oversees a range of risk-related services. These include anti-corruption solutions, investigation offerings, litigation and dispute resolution services, valuation offerings, and forensic technology solutions. Preber also serves as the firm’s Phoenix office managing partner.

“Brad has been very successful in building our firm’s Business Risk Services practice in an increasingly risk-laden market,” said Srikant Sastry, national managing principal of Advisory Services at Grant Thornton. “He understands our clients’ needs and drives his team to provide first-class solutions.”

Preber turned the firm’s Business Risk Services practice into a $200 million business – including the Cyber Risk practice he launched in 2017. He has more than 35 years of experience serving clients as a litigation consultant, expert witness, forensic accountant, neutral arbitrator and fraud investigator. He specializes in complex claims and events with an emphasis on “bet the company” commercial disputes and fraud claims.

“Through his invaluable advice and extensive experience, Brad defines leadership at Grant Thornton,” added Sastry. “This recognition further exemplifies his ability to help our clients grow by creating, protecting and transforming value across their business.”

Preber received a bachelor’s of business administration degree from the University of New Mexico. He is a certified public accountant in Arizona, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Preber is a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Global Management Accountant, Certified Construction Auditor and is certified in Financial Forensics. He is also active in several professional, civic and community organizations, and has served on a number of boards of directors.

Consulting magazine will honor this year’s recipients at the Top 25 Consultants awards dinner at the Mandarin Oriental in New York on Thursday, June 13.
