Burnout turning up the heat on U.S. companies

Survey of American workers reveals increasing wellness concerns

Finding your workforce’s stress points

Grant Thornton’s 2024 State of Work in America survey shows worker burnout rising, well-being falling, and a primary focus on compensation when choosing jobs.

Our survey also revealed:

  • More employees report their mental and financial wellness has decreased in the past year.
  • Job security has increased as a reason people stay in jobs.
  • Rising concerns about poor internal communication and career path transparency.
  • AI adoption is increasing, though concerns it will replace jobs haven’t greatly manifested.

The report also discusses ways that companies can meet these challenges to help ensure a motivated, productive workforce.
