Erin Couture

Executive summary

Erin Couture is a Managing Director in Grant Thornton's Not-For-Profit, Healthcare and Higher Education Practice and is dedicated to meeting the needs of tax-exempt clients. Erin has provided client with assistance on issues including alternative investments, IRS and state audit representation, intermediate sanctions, obtaining exempt status, compensation, fundraising disclosures, joint ventures, transaction support, tax-exempt bonds, tax reform impact, reporting requirements, as well as general compliance matters.Erin has experience serving various types of not-for-profit organizations including hospitals and their related organizations, colleges universities, secondary schools, health insurers, social organizations, museums and pension trusts.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Erin spent over 15 years with a Big Four firm's national exempt organizations tax practice. Erin has presented on issues of importance to not-for-profits to various groups including the National Association of College and University Business Officers, Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers, Higher Education Tax Institute, American Bar Association and Boston Bar Association.

Community involvement

• Erin enjoys volunteering and being an active member of her community. She serves as a volunteer at a local cat rescue shelter, her children's school and her Church.
