Chris is the leader of Grant Thornton’s U.S. International Tax practice.  He has previously led the firm’s technology industry tax initiative.  He has over 20 years of experience in international and corporate tax consulting and compliance.  

 

Chris has broad consulting experience in many industries including transportation, technology, manufacturing, and life sciences.  His clients range from closely held to publicly traded companies. 

 

Chris’s specific experience includes:

  • Firm leader in global modeling for multi-national businesses.
  • Leading international tax analytics projects for the firm, including international restructurings to optimize effective tax rates. 
  • Identification and implementation of tax-efficient transfer pricing-related strategies, including the tax-efficient ownership and development of intellectual property
  • Structuring related to IP ownership optimization

Community Involvement

Chris has served in various leadership capacities within Boy Scouts of America at both the troop and council level. He has coached youth sports and youth robotics.  His VEX robotics teams have routinely placed in the top 10 in the world out of over 3,000 teams.

 

Chris is active in development of CPAs through his involvement in advisory boards at the high school, college, and North Carolina CPA Association level

Education    

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  He also holds a Master of Accounting degree with a concentration in taxation from the same institution.
