Executive summary

 

Andrée Bourgon is Principal at Grant Thornton, and the practice lead for Insurance Strategy and Transactions. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, she amassed 20 years of insurance industry experience at large multinational organizations, startups and as an insurance industry consultant.

For the past 3 years at Grant Thornton, Andrée has focused on building the insurance strategy and transaction practice including a multitude of transactions across the P&C, Broker, Health and Life space as well as a large portfolio of organic growth strategies helping clients launch new insurance businesses, products, distribution channels, build enterprise strategies and plans to realize the benefits.

Prior to joining GT, Andrée was vice president of global strategy at Ascot US (a startup) where she led the acquisition of admitted and non-admitted carriers, launched a MGA, established a Bermuda based reinsurer and orchestrated the build of the US legal entity structure and operations from the ground up. While the director of global strategy at AIG, she was responsible for running M&A acquisitions and divestitures, product launches, developed the reinsurance strategy to unwind a 90-country multinational pooling arrangement including captives and reinsurers, business unit P&L remediation plans, and developed the multinational and captive business and operating model strategy. She also held global roles as the Chief of Staff to the CFO and lead the internal consulting organization that provided business architects and solution leaders for a $400m portfolio of business strategy projects. Additionally, Andrée worked on strategic initiatives at AXA garnering a strong background in transactions, finance and technology, and ultimately leading the FP&A and Treasury team for the US property & casualty business.

Andrée has led or participated in over 50 transactions in the P&C, Life and Health space in the US, UK, Asia, South and Central America and managed an insure-tech investment portfolio. Having launched or remediated products in the US, and many international markets across personal, commercial lines and health, her span of knowledge allows for quick and precise understanding of organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
