Cindy Williams

Cindy is a partner in the firm’s SEC Regulatory Matters group, with 20 years of auditing, accounting, and SEC reporting experience. She began her career in the audit practice where she served public and private companies, primarily in the manufacturing and healthcare industries. After 8 years in the audit practice, she transitioned to the national office focusing on SEC regulatory, financial reporting, and compliance issues.

As a national office resource with strong regulatory experience, Cindy supports Grant Thornton’s professionals and clients across a variety of industries, helping them navigate complex SEC reporting, financial reporting, and compliance matters. She also has significant capital markets experience having worked on initial public offerings, including SPACs; mergers and acquisitions; secondary offerings; and private placement offerings as well as audits of public companies.

Cindy represents the firm on professional committees and task forces sponsored by the AICPA’s Center for Audit Quality that regularly meets with SEC staff to discuss practice issues facing SEC registrants. She frequently presents at internal and external training events as well as regularly authors external thought leadership on SEC regulatory developments. Cindy also leads several cross-border filing reviews for Grant Thornton International Ltd member firm clients.
