Consulting magazine honors Sarjoo for ‘Excellence in Leadership'
CHICAGO — Priya Sarjoo, national managing principal of Grant Thornton LLP’s Risk Advisory Business Line, has been named to Consulting magazine’s 2020 Top 25 Consultants list. The annual award, which honors professionals who are making the greatest impact within the consulting industry, recognized Sarjoo for “Excellence in Leadership.”
As the firm’s Risk Advisory leader, Sarjoo leans into her curiosity, instincts and passion for problem-solving to turn clients’ existing information into business insights that drive meaningful results. Prior to being named Grant Thornton’s Risk Advisory leader, Sarjoo served as the firm’s Controls Advisory and Internal Audit leader.
“Priya puts her clients and teams first, and their successes have propelled our firm’s Advisory Services practice in what’s become an increasingly competitive market,” said David Hazels, national managing partner of Advisory Services. “She’s the definition of a proven leader and trusted advisor here at Grant Thornton.”
During her more than 20-year career, Sarjoo has provided risk management and internal audit services for clients in a variety of industries. She specializes in providing clients with business strategies to develop risk management systems, improve operational efficiencies, enhance monitoring mechanisms, streamline management reporting systems, implement internal audit functions and processes, and evaluate internal controls environments.
“Her ability to understand and act on clients’ needs is remarkable,” added Hazels. “This recognition is further validation of her extraordinary leadership and capacity to guide clients, especially during these uncertain and unprecedented times.”
“Early in my career I spent two years doing business in Hong Kong and mainland China, and this experience helped shape the way I create relationships with my clients,” added Sarjoo. “I always knew the importance of active listening and asking smart questions, but my time oversees made me realize the solution is often found in the client’s subtle context and nonverbal communication.”
Sarjoo received a master’s of business administration degree in management and operations from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University. She is a certified internal auditor and currently sits on the board for the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Dallas Chapter, as well as the North Texas Food Bank.
