Dan Voogt

Executive summary
 

Dan is a partner in Grant Thornton’s Chicago audit practice with more than 15 years of experience in public accounting. Dan started at Grant Thornton in 2008 and has completed a 2-year rotation in the Audit Methodology & Standards group. He is the technology industry local leader for the Chicago office.

Dan has extensive experience in providing auditing and accounting services to businesses ranging from privately held, emerging growth companies to publicly traded, global companies, primarily in the technology and manufacturing industries. Dan proactively coordinates with management teams to ensure companies attain their desired milestones.  He has broad experience with the auditing and accounting requirements for business combinations, revenue recognition and share-based compensation.

Professional qualifications and memberships

Dan is a Certified Public Accountant and a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a Member of the Illinois CPA Society. Dan is a member of Grant Thornton’s Disability Alliance business resource group.

Community involvement

Dan has been involved with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago since 2016. He has served as a Vice Chair, Executive Board Member and Treasurer of the Children’s Research Fund. He also serves as a board member of the Foundation Board.

Dan is also involved in Lurie Children’s Move for Kids event, which is Lurie Children’s primary community event for patients, families, friends, and neighbors. Grant Thornton is one of the largest corporate sponsors of the annual event and has raised more than $200,000 for Lurie Children’s since Grant Thornton began sponsoring the event in 2017.

Dan lives in La Grange with his wife and 4 children.
