My career started in audit and tax at a larger accounting firm, but after consistently working 80-plus-hour weeks, I realized it wasn’t the right long-term fit for me. That’s when I decided I needed an environment where I could do my best work while having the flexibility to prioritize my family. At Grant Thornton, I found that balance was possible — with mentors whose career paths actually excite me when I think about my future. Now I’m building a fulfilling career that lets me empower my team while creating a life I truly love.

Here, I'm surrounded by fantastic leaders. My coach is a role model for the type of leader I want to become and an advocate for working parents like me. I've also built relationships with leaders across the firm; one partner became a key mentor, offering advice and support during and after my transition back from maternity leave. This support has been key to my success in this phase of my career.

With fewer clients to manage than I would experience at larger firms, I build deeper relationships and develop richer subject matter expertise. Among my teammates, our open communication and respect for each other's schedules allow us all to become stronger collaborators and consultants.

my husband and my daughter, Audrey, who’s just over a year and a half and starting to string words together. She pronounces her name “Ana” right now and her phrase of the week has been, “Ana do!”

In my free time, I love...

to travel and hike — my husband and I hiked in both Switzerland and Washington when I was pregnant. I don't take as many international personal trips these days, but I travel for work often.

Family is everything...

to me. Having a tight-knit family, as well as having a sister with Down syndrome, has guided many of my life choices, including pursuing a professional services career with more flexibility.

to work by being open, especially about my journey navigating working motherhood. I know it invites other mothers to feel comfortable sharing their experiences, too.
