Loma Barad

Executive summary
 

Loma is a seasoned tax practitioner focused on serving clients within the firm’s Tax Reporting and Advisory practice.  Loma has successfully led engagements both preparing and reviewing the tax provisions of global publicly traded and privately held corporations. Having completed her undergraduate and graduate education at University of Illinois, Loma holds a Master of Science in Accountancy, Specialized in Taxation, and a CPA. She also has a background in tax process and technology transformation and has completed relevant training with the Project Management Institute and the International Association of Six Sigma.

Loma has more than seventeen years of tax accounting experience. She has also led tax return preparation and review engagements and offers consultative services on a project basis. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Loma served in several client service and in-house roles in tax, financial operations, internal audit and financial controls. Loma has held roles of increasing responsibility at Deloitte Tax, LLP and a Fortune 500 utility company in the Chicago-land area. Her diverse experiences provide a valuable advisory perspective to her clients.

• Loma is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Illinois CPA Society.
• Loma is also an active member of the Federal Committee of the Chicago Tax Club.
